I have been living in Pouch Cove since 2012. My husband's family history is based here in Pouch Cove and I have always found stories about this cove fascinating. Life in a Newfoundland out port community has never been easy and Pouch Cove is no exception.
Once I began researching the goings on of the settlement I wanted to share some of the stories about the hard living and pure grit that it took to live here.
For example the current Anglican Church building was finished being built in 1885!!! That's crazy old! The fact that it is still standing and houses some pieces of stained glass that are over a hundred years old should be talked about!
So that's what I'm going to try and do on my Historic Walking Tour, talk about and celebrate Pouch Cove's history. I hope you have a free Saturday this summer to come and join me!
